This is the first of three videos in the series Agriculture to Science. The series covers the history of modern society from agriculture and economy to religion and science. The first episode starts with the agricultural revolution and is titled The Land of Milk and Honey because if you have milk you have cattle, and if you have honey you have orchards. For millennia people travelled with the seasons and the availability of resources to survive. When greater resource advantages were developed through animal husbandry and crops, people began to settle into stationary settlements. The old social roles of collectors, warriors, and shaman began to evolve into more complex social institutions of economy, security, and government. All across the planet several similar social developments took shape as agriculture lead to excess goods and trade. As we looked at the timeline of society this is the weave that we saw. How would you describe today’s fabric of society? What can we do to improve the weave?
